Spam King Sentenced to Prison
Good news for email users everywhere. The Internet’s most notorious spam king, Sanford Wallace is going to jail for 2 1/2 years. Once released, he is forbidden from using a computer or Internet connected device for the next 5 years.
Wallace has been the self-proclaimed “Spam King” since the dawn of the Internet. He got his start by sending junk faxes and robo phone calls in the early 1990s.
By the time Facebook was a widespread phenominoum, Wallace leveraged spamming techiques that allowed for 550,000 Facebook users to be spammed in a mear three days.
While we at Nine Virtual Technologies are not convenced this will yeild a noticble reduction in spam, we are happy there is one less person spamming online.
