VMworld 2020 Summary

VMworld held its first ever virtual addition last week and it did not disappoint!  Below are some of the highlights:

VMware gets SASE with Security
VMware is partnering with Menlo Security and Zscaler to offer its Secure Access Secure Edge platform.  Combining with Workspace One VMware is focusing on a zero trust offering for remote workers available in January 2021.

SmartNICs equals Project Monterey 
VMware is working with NVIDIA, Pensando, and Intel to create next-gen architecture from Edge-Cloud-DC.  The focus is on 5G, AI/ML, and applications.  Warning:  Don’t expect anything until 2022

Tanzu Portfolio Updates
Tanzu celebrates its 1st birthday with an expanded portfolio.  Tanzu is available on vSphere, VCF, VMC on AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.

Nine Virtual Technologies Updates:

We have implemented Horizon 8, which is the latest major update from VMware.
